Opta Sports released the stats for the 2015 Super Rugby season and Joseph Pearson picks out some of the key points from the figures for New Zealand's teams.
The Hurricanes led the league ladder by a huge 14 point margin so it comes as no surprise to find they scored the most tries per game (3.6).
Their own TJ Perenara was the league's top try scorer with 10 closely followed by the Crusaders' Nemani Nadolo and the Highlanders' Waisake Naholo who registered nine tries each.
Liam Sopoaga was the third highest points scorer with 159 points and the Highlanders' first-five also kicked the most conversions (34).
The Crusaders narrowly missed out on the play-offs but they scored the most points per game (30.1) and they were just behind the Hurricanes in tries scored per game (3.5). The Blues endured a miserable season and their tries per game total (1.8) was the league's second lowest average.
Nemani Nadolo and Waisake Nahalo also topped the clean breaks chart (28) and (26) but the Hurricanes led the way with carries per game (125.2), metres made (560.3), clean breaks (11.6) and defenders beaten per game (24.1).
The Chiefs created more offloads per game (17.5) than anyone else and that's largely down to Sonny Bill Williams who individually made the most offloads per game (3.4).
Despite finishing second from bottom, the Blues had the highest tackle percentage (88%) but they were also culpable for being the side who missed the most tackles per game (14.3). The Hurricanes were second in tackles made per game (127.1).
The Crusaders had the most successful turnovers per game (8.9), just ahead of the Highlanders (8.8) while the Blues (17.4) and the Chiefs (18.4) were guilty of conceding the most turnovers per game.
The Chiefs were also the most ill-disciplined side conceding the most penalties (12.6) and receiving the most yellow cards per game (0.8). The league's worst perpetrator was the Chief's very own Liam Messam who conceded 21 penalties in 13 games.
The Hurricanes lost the most lineouts (2.8) while the Crusaders were most effective at stealing them per game (2.4).
One area the Hurricanes did excel in was their own scrum success (95%) and the Crusaders were just behind them per game (94%). The Highlanders won the most scrums per game (7.8) while the Chiefs were second best in stealing the most scrums from the opposition (0.3).
