With five wins and one loss to date, the Central Rugby Club First XV is placed top on the points table for the secondary school Premier A competition.
Comprehensively beating Hawera High School 41-15 on Saturday June 28, in windy conditions on a damp field, Central took control from the kick off, scrumming well, not only winning our line-out ball but disrupting HHS, giving the backline go forward ball to attack with or to kick for field position.
A very good team effort.
The Stratford High School First XV travelled to Taita College in Wellington to play the annual school exchange.
The boys played a fast-paced game over their bigger opposition, winning 49-10, giving coaches Matt Stewart and Jeff Walker plenty to smile about.
