Stratford High School's First XV are bringing in the big names, including one of the world's greatest rugby players - Sir Colin Meads.
Joining Sir Colin is Sir Brian Lahore and Taranaki's own Gordon Slater who will be at the Knight of Nights fundraiser event for the team's Australian tour.
The 26-strong squad will be playing six games on the Gold Coast and are fundraising for their trip in May.
Already, the boys have done haymaking, pulled out ragwort, chopped wood and crutched sheep.
For some of the players, it's not only their first time on the bi-annual tour, but their first time in the team, including 15-year-old Josh Hunger.
``It's pretty exciting. It's definitely something I have strived for,'' he says.
Training for the team began last December and the team has already played six games, winning four, and their season hasn't even begun.
The boys unanimously agreed the sun and beaches are aspects of the trip they are definitely looking forward to as well as playing teams from other countries.
The fundraising activities have brought the team closer together and have also acted as fitness training sessions, but the team is still looking for more work and the boys say they will do anything.
If you have a job you need doing that the team might be able to help with, contact Jeff Walker at Stratford High School.
Tickets to the Night with Knights are still available or you can buy tickets at the door. They cost $30 each and include supper. For tickets or more information, contact either the Stratford Information Centre on (06) 765 6708 or Mike Ussher on (06) 762 2664.
