Ackworth Art Group's work on show

A mixed media exhibition by Ackworth Art Group has opened at the Fritz Reuter Gallery in Inglewood.

The group has been operating for 22 years. Some members are new to art, a few taking up art when past their three score years plus 10.

The members use oils, water colour, acrylics, with craft members' works in collage, knitting, silks, decoupage.

Most have had no formal tuition and get together once a week to enjoy their art.

Members of the group include Bev Terry, Joy Stallard, Ngaire Smith, Christine Cambie, Dorothy Saywell, Bev Wakeling, Varien Steele, Colleen Bernasconi, Tania Thomas and Majorie Pederson.

The group is a regular gallery exhibitor at Fritz Reuter and is back by popular demand.

The exhibition runs to January 20 and the gallery is open daily 10am-4pm.
