NRL: Rising star and underwear model charged with assault

A rising Gold Coast Titans star and underwear model Karl Lawton has been arrested after 'Mad Monday' celebrations.

Rookie NRL star Lawton, 20, who with girlfriend Rosie Van has been dubbed the 'Australia's Posh and Becks' because of their huge social media following, was charged with assault, the Gold Coast Bulletin reports.

The genetically blessed couple boast a huge following of 120,000 people on Instagram and are in demand as models on the Gold Coast.

A Titans spokesman told the confirmed the incident was 'a family domestic matter between two males'.

Lawton is the brother of former Gold coast Titans player Kayne Lawton, who played seven games with the Queensland-based team and is also a part-time model.

The 20-year-old made his debut for the club in July this year when he suffered the season ending broken and dislocated ankle while against the New Zealand Warriors.

The Titans spokesperson told the Gold Coast Bulletin that the club was aware of the incident but 'as it is now a police matter the club will be making no further comment.'

The incident comes as controversial footage of club superstar Jarryd Hayne was filmed on Snapchat hanging out with alleged Hells Angels bikie Chris Bloomfield last weekend.
