Andrea Kilday has lost her opening taekwondo contest at the Rio Olympics.

Kilday, 34, was beaten by Brazilian fourth seed Iris Sing 7-5 in the 49kg classification.

Sing landed four kicks in the second round to forge a 6-1 lead and despite a final round rally by Kilday, where she scored four points, it was not enough to advance directly to the quarter-finals.
