Another promising Auckland back is heading south.
Blues winger Tevita Li has signed with the Highlanders for the 2017 season, following in the footsteps of former Blues converts Waisake Naholo and Malakai Fekitoa.
The former New Zealand under-20 winger has played for the Blues since making his franchise debut in 2013 as an 18-year-old.
Now aged 21, Li has cemented himself as the Blues' first choice left winger this year, starting every game and scoring four tries.
Elsewhere, Andrew Horrell will head overseas after the Chiefs' Super Rugby season.
The Hawke's Bay utility is taking up a contract to play in Japan.
Horrell has been with the Chiefs since 2012 and was part of the squad that won back-to-back Super Rugby titles in 2012 and 2013.
