Sporting streaks had infamous episodes when Aussie cricketer Greg Chappell bat-spanked an Eden Park invader in 1977 and Sheila Nicholls cartwheeled nude, across Lords in 1989.

There are stacks of similar episodes but finding significant active sporting streaks are not as common.

Ed Moses, Jahangir Khan and Joe DiMaggio had legendary runs of success but have long disappeared from our sporting frame.

Here are some of the current ongoing streaks:

Lydia Ko's latest LPGA victory this week continued her run of making 26 consecutive cuts since her solitary stumble in professional golf at last year's PGA major.

The Detroit Red Wings made NHL playoffs for the 25th consecutive time this year.

Hamish Bond and Eric Murray have rowed to 61 consecutive victories in their coxless pairs races.

Peter Burling and Blair Tuke have won their 27th successive 49ers sailing event as they turn their focus towards gold in Rio.

The All Blacks have gone 36 tests without defeat at Eden Park since 1994.
