Several leading world basketball nations have their spots at the Rio Olympics at risk, due to clubs being a part of a rebel league.

Olympic silver medallists Spain are among eight teams to have been thrown out of next year's EuroBasket, because teams from their country have entered Europe's main, but unsanctioned, club competition the Euroleague.

FIBA will meet to consider the possibility of teams being barred from competing at or qualifying for Rio 2016.

Turkey is among another six countries being investigated, which come as welcome news for the Tall Blacks who are meant to be at the same Olympic qualifying tournament as them in July.
