Kiwis and Aussies came together in Christchurch today to mark five years since the Christchurch earthquake.

The crowd at Hagley Oval came to a hush at 12:51 for minute's silence to mark exactly five years since the quake that killed 185 people.

Players from both teams emerged from the pavilion to mark the moment.

Brendon McCullum, Tom Latham, Corey Anderson, Henry Nicholls and Matt Henry are all members of the New Zealand side who were living in Christchurch at the time when the horrific earthquake struck.

As a tribute to those lost in the quakes, Aussie and Kiwi players wore black armbands.
