Kiwi sailors Jo Aleh and Polly Powrie have won silver in the European 470 championships off the coast of France.

The pair have won the medal race to move up from third into second overall.

Powrie says they've had a mixed regatta.

"Probably didn't sail as well as we could've this week, we had a few missed opportunities i guess that we sort of gave away points and things, but yeah pretty happy to come away with second.''

The New Zealand men's team of Paul Snow-Hansen and Daniel Willcox have finished in 8th overall.
