Softball: Rep given ban after meth test

Softballer Kurt Allan has been suspended from competition for the mandatory two years after testing positive to methamphetamine.

The positive tests came after the final of the national fastpitch softball championships last year.

Allan was a member of the Auckland side which beat Canterbury in the final at Albany in December.

He was found to have D-methamphetamine and D-amphetamine in his system.

He admitted the offence, did not offer any information and said he would abide by the decision of the New Zealand Sports Tribunal.
