More bad news for the Blues after yesterday's last-gasp 30-27 defeat by the Waratahs in Sydney - prop Charlie Faumuina is out for up to six weeks with a calf strain.

Initial reports said Faumuina suffered a grade two strain but he will have an ultrasound scan tomorrow to assess the full extent of the injury. He was replaced by Angus Ta'avao in the first half of the match at Allianz Stadium and remains on crutches.

The Blues face the Chiefs at Mt Maunganui on Saturday night.
