Tendai "The Beast" Mtawarira produced an incredible display of strength during the Sharks 25-20 win over the Stormers last weekend at ABSA Stadium in Durban.

Mtawarira saved 112kg lock Anton Bresler from potentially a very serious injury - holding him high in the air by his shorts - when it seemed he was destined to plummet head first into the ground.

Mtawarira is a Zimbabwean-born South African international who is fondly known by friends and fans as "The Beast" due to his imposing physical stature.

Mtawarira has enjoyed a fearsome reputation since he bullied The Bull of England, Phil Vickery, during a Test match in 2009.

The loosehead prop reduced a proud former England captain to rubble in 45 minutes of scrummaging torture.

Mtawarira has been named in the Springboks training squad for their three Test series with England next month.
