The New Zealand Breakers have signed Tall Black Leon Henry, filling their roster for the upcoming Australian National Basketball league season.
Henry is not new to the Breakers having played on a short term contract while Kirk Penney was away trialling in the USA last season.
Henry's attitude and commitmentduring that time was reflected in him staying with the club for the entire season, contributing on the training court to push the roster towards their championship success.
Breakers general manager Richard Clarke has no doubts as to Henry's value to the club.
"He is a proven winner, picking up two NBL titles with the Saints, with our development team in China last year and more recently with the Tall Blacks at the Stankovic Cup.
"Most importantly for us at the Breakers though is the chance to reward yet another of the next generation of Kiwi basketballers coming through the ranks.
"Leon is representative of a group that will lead the Breakers and New Zealand basketball for the next decade and more.''
Henry who is 2m tall will offer coach Andrej Lemanis some depth in rebounding and scoring but also has the ability to shoot the outside shot.
