Soccer: Smeltz signs with Perth Glory

All Whites striker Shane Smeltz has reportedly signed with Perth Glory.

Perth stopped short of confirming the signing, but it appears they all but have his signature on a three-year deal worth $1.2 million.

The Glory have big plans for the next A-League season after a disastrous last campaign where they finished last.

Smeltz is their sixth off season signing - the others include former Wellington Phoenix keeper Danny Vukovic and Adelaide United captain Travis Dodd.

Smeltz scored 21 goals in two seasons with the Phoenix and his overall record of 49 goals in just 77 A-League games, makes him the most feared marksman in Australasia.
