Soccer: A win at last for embattled Phoenix

The Wellington Phoenix have snapped a four-game losing streak with a 1-nil away win over the Perth Glory in football's A-League.

Brazilian midfielder Daniel was the hero for the Phoenix with a goal in the 51st minute.

Phoenix coach Ricki Herbert was pleased to put a dismal October behind the club. He says it was a tough month but last night's win is a nice way to start November and he thought his side played some decent football.

Elsewhere, the Queensland Roar edged Adelaide United 1-nil.

Wellington is still second to bottom on the A-League ladder on 11 points, five clear of Perth, which remains winless this season.
