The Sevens All Blacks clinched a 12th IRB sevens series title despite losing their final pool game to hosts England at the season ending London Sevens.

England sent a record sevens crowd of 74,969 home happy after beating New Zealand 15-12.

England's captain Tom Mitchell kicked a late penalty drop goal to seal victory.

New Zealand will play second-ranked South Africa in the quarter-finals, for whom Seabelo Senatla top-scored on day one with seven tries.

In the other Cup quarters England face France, while Australia will play Kenya and Samoa face Fiji in an all-South Sea Island tussle.

New Zealand finished second in their pool after earlier thrashing Argentina 40-10 and Wales 49-0.
