Quake rattles Bay

A weak earthquake was felt in the Bay of Plenty overnight.

The 3.7 magnitude quake hit without 5 kilometres of Te Kaha at 3.22am.

Geonet measured the quake and estimated it hitting at a depth of 53km.

The earthquake joins at least two others which shook Gisborne earlier this week.

Another earthquake was also felt overnight north east of Wanaka. This measured 3.8 in magnitidue.
