A mother of seven has been refused bail after a major undercover drugs operation in which police seized methamphetamine worth up to $60,000 and arrested 20 people across the Bay.
Lynette Mereana Williams was one of five people who appeared in Tauranga District Court yesterday on drug charges, after police raided 10 properties in Tauranga and Te Puke on Wednesday.
Williams, a 43-year-old mother of seven from Te Puke, faced seven methamphetamine-dealing charges.
They included three charges of supplying the drug between November 16 and 23 this year and four of possessing the drug for supply.
Judge Peter Rollo said that, despite Williams being the principal caregiver of her seven children, aged between 2 and 16, he found just cause for her continued detention.
