Christmas Appeal: Volunteers ready for can drive

Ngongotaha residents are reminded to get their non-perishable food items ready for tomorrow night when volunteers will be going door-to-door collecting food for the Salvation Army foodbank.

Staff from The Daily Post, as well as members of the Salvation Army Church, will be collecting food during The Daily Post Christmas Appeal can drive from 6pm to 8pm tomorrow.

Firefighters and appliances from the Ngongotaha Volunteer Fire Brigade will also be involved.

Rotorua MP Todd McClay and some of his family will also be out collecting in Ngongotaha for the appeal.

Meanwhile, donations to The Daily Post Christmas Appeal for the Salvation Army foodbank can be made at our Hinemoa St office between 8am and 5pm on weekdays. People can donate money or non-perishable food. Food donations can also be made at the Salvation Army's Community Ministries at Community House on Haupapa St.

If any organisations or individuals are organising a can drive or fundraising event, please let us know by contacting reporter Abigail Hartevelt, phone (07) 348 6199 ext 57049 or email
