Rotorua residents are frustrated about vegetation burn-offs which, they say, are polluting the city's air.
A Springfield couple contacted The Daily Post after becoming annoyed at vegetation fires at Rotorua Golf Course.
The couple, who did not want to be identified, said it was no surprise the city had bad air quality when companies were allowed to do such burn-offs. They said thick plumes of smoke could be seen from various parts of Springfield.
They said burn-offs at the golf course happened at least yearly, with the most recent a week ago.
Rotorua Fire Safety Officer Stuart Bootten said he was aware of the fires and said the golf course, like other businesses, often disposed of vegetation by burning it.
