Mr Harrison chaired a standing room-only mayoral candidates' forum organised by U3A in the run-up to last year's local body elections.
Grey Power president Rosemary McKenzie and outgoing U3A president Loeta Davies said it made sense for the two organisations, which had similar aims and objectives, to combine to stage the pre-election event.
"While the emphasis of this election seems to be on getting young people to vote, it is the older age group which traditionally casts the highest percentage of votes on polling day and the forum is aimed at giving this section of the community an opportunity to hear what local candidates' priorities, especially for the wider Rotorua region, are," Mrs McKenzie said.
Mrs Davies said it was up to groups such as Grey Power and U3A to ensure voters went to the polls equipped to make an informed choice.
The forum will begin with candidates introducing their policies and aspirations followed by a time where they each answer a question drawn from a hat.
A brief debate on a yet-to-be revealed major election issue will follow.
Members of the audience will then be given a chance to quiz candidates on topics of their choice.
The forum begins at 1.30pm and will close with a light afternoon tea.
Admission is free but a gold coin contribution to help cover costs would be welcomed, organisers said.
