Shane Jones' assertion that he only watched blue movies from "time to time" is looking shaky if his list of reimbursements to Ministerial Services is anything to go by.

The itemised spending list (see attached PDF) includes four movies Mr Jones watched while a guest at Sky City Grand Hotel on the 10th and 11th of January 2008, each costing $19.90.

After a quick call to the Sky City Grand, nzherald.co.nz discovered that regular movies cost guests $14.90 each - adult films are more expensive, at $19.90.

Which means that over two days, Mr Jones watched four adult films - two per night, one could assume. No regular movies were included.

On August 25 2008, Mr Jones watched a $21.50 movie at the Langham. The hotel confirmed that normal movies cost guests $18.68 and adult films were $21.50.

On October 7, the day Mr Jones launched a code of practice for retirement villages, he watched two movies, each at $19.90 - the adult film price - at the Novotel in Hamilton.

On January 21 of that year, the night before he attended Sir Edmund Hillary's funeral, Mr Jones paid for a movie at the Heritage Hotel, again for $19.90. When contacted by nzherald.co.nz, the Heritage, oddly, said it did not offer guests on-demand movies.

On Valentine's Day (February 14), Mr Jones watched two $19.90 films at City Life, which, when contacted by nzherald.co.nz, said it no longer offered in-house movies. Two more $19.90 films were charged to the credit card at City Life on February 22 - the day Mr Jones spoke about affordable housing and the Building Code review at a gala event at Austral Bricks Selection Centre in Auckland - and on February 29.

On March 6 and 7, Mr Jones paid for two films - costing $21.50 - each at the Stamford Plaza. The hotel said the pricing information for its movies was only revealed to guests. March 7 was the day Mr Jones launched Master Contractors Incorporated, which aimed to set standards in the horticulture and viticulture sectors.

On March 28 - the day Mr Jones issued a statement to the media warning that a National-led Government would sell off Maori TV - and September 18, he paid for films costing $18.68 at the same hotel, and on October 3 watched three $18.68 films.

Mr Jones also refunded a chartered flight from Auckland to Tauranga.

Chartering a flight from Auckland to Tauranga can cost between $960 to $7126 return, nzherald.co.nz found.

Mr Jones said his original flight from Kaitaia to Tauranga was cancelled so he drove to Auckland and chartered another flight which cost "around $1200".

Flight Hauraki can do a flight on a Cessna 172 for $480 each way and includes a night stop-over in Tauranga.

The Cessna 172 can take up to three people but if five are needed than the company owns a Cessna 207 and will charge $760 each way.

Fly My Sky operate a twin engine 10 seater Islander plane - a step up from the Cessna. The round trip with one night in Tauranga will cost about $1500.

But if it's a helicopter you need, Heletranz will fly one person from Albany to Tauranga for $7126 plus GST. The Eurocopter is described as "nice and quiet and very smooth".
