The Aotea Centre has been evacuated after the fire alarm went off during a ballet performance.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) was called there about 9pm, a FENZ spokesman confirmed.
Fire fighters found no sign of fire and cleared the building as being safe before leaving the scene about 9.20pm.
A performance Akram Khan's Giselle was on at the theatre tonight, as part ofAuckland Arts Festival.

Audience members tweeted that the evacuation happened during the second act.
