Police believe they have found the body of missing Waihi man Grant Ridley today.
"While undertaking a search of farmland in the Waihi area this morning, Search and Rescue personnel have located a body," a police statement said.
"While formal identification is yet to take place, police believe it is 46-year-old Grant Ridley who has been missing for two weeks."
Ridley's next of kin had now been notified and the death was referred to the Coroner.
Ridley went missing on October 14, sparking a manhunt in the Waihi area.
At the time police said they were concerned because it was out of character and that Ridley's car was still parked at his house.
Eight search and rescue teams were tasked with looking for Ridley on October 17 and a specialist dog search team was also involved along with a plane.
Police today extended their "deepest sympathies" to Ridley's family and friends.
