It's been a helluva month for the Greens sole remaining leader, James Shaw.
His co-leader Metiria Turei quit after admitting benefit and electoral fraud, the party plummeted below the 5 per cent survival threshold in the polls and his own leadership has been questioned.
But the first term list MP showed tonight that he hasn't lost his sense of humour.
In a tweet to his 8548 followers, he shared the excitement of his Saturday night.
"I'm at the nerdiest housewarming party ever, with @LeilaniTamu. The hosts have got candidates from every party (ex-Nat) pitching the crowd."
A photo posted with the tweet showed several earnest young people listening to someone speak.
Leilani Tamu, a former New Zealand diplomat, is the Greens candidate in the Auckland electorate of New Lynn.
