Two women who were the subject of a vicious unprovoked attack in Auckland are recovering well, police say.
Detectives investigating the assault on an Auckland woman and her daughter are now asking the public for help as new information about the assaults is revealed.
A 55-year-old Point Chevalier woman was getting into her own car on Monday, July 17, when she was attacked from behind.
Police originally believed she was approaching a neighbour's car which was allegedly being broken into, but on Saturday police said they believed she was getting into her own car.
The woman was kicked and punched until she was unconscious.
