More than 800 West Auckland households without power after car crashes into power pole

More than 800 West Auckland households are without power after a car crashed into a power pole this evening.

Police said the car collided with a power pole on West Coast Rd in Glen Eden, bringing the power pole and power lines down.

According to Vector's outage map, 823 households in the area lost power as a result.

Power is expected to be restored by 10.30pm.

West Coast Rd is closed between Pleasant and Rua roads while the engineers restore the power.

No one was injured in the crash.
