Four pedestrians were robbed at gunpoint in the early hours of this morning.

Police say the group were walking on Fairview St in Christchurch when a red sedan-type car pulled up ahead of them.

Two people, described as wearing dark clothing, climbed out and approached the group on the footpath while two others remained in the car.
