Two men who were the subject of a manhunt in bush area in Waitoki this morning have been arrested.

Police were searching for the men, who fled from the scene of a burglary on Whitehills Rd, north of Auckland, about 10am today.

The men, both in their mid-30s, fled on foot.

A large number of officers were deployed to the area, including the Police Eagle Helicopter and dog squads.

Just after 1.30pm the two men were found hiding under a house, and taken into custody.

Police were not looking for anyone further and previous cordons have now been lifted.

The men were expected to appear in the North Shore District court tomorrowon burglary charges.
