Eight windows have been smashed at the Bluff police station tonight.

Police believed someone damaged the windows between 5pm and 8pm and were appealing for help from the community.

They asked anyone who saw potentially suspicious activity on Barrow St to call the station on 03 212 8844 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Police said no one entered the station, despite the windows being smashed. The building was now secured.

"It is disappointing that people would choose to attack the Police Station in this manner," said Inspector Mike Bowman.

"We are here to serve the community and help people be safe and feel safe."
