A man is appearing in Timaru District Court tomorrow charged over a double stabbing that left one critically injured.

The 25-year-old man had been taken into custody after the attack late yesterday evening at a property on Whitcombe Street in Temuka.

Police said he'd be facing "related charges" following the attack.

They had been called to the address just after 10pm last night where two men were found stabbed.

One person remained in a critical condition in Christchurch Hospital this morning, while another person had been treated for minor injuries.

Police were unable to comment further on the incident as it was now before the courts.
