Robbery in South Dunedin

Police are searching for a teenage girl after a robbery at a South Dunedin takeaway this evening.

The aggravated robbery took place at the Tandooree Garden takeaway on the corner of Hillside Rd and Bellona St about 6.20pm.

Police said a female, believed to 16 or 17 years old, entered the store and presented a knife before stealing a small sum of cash from the till.

The offender was Caucasian, of average height and skinny build, wearing blue jeans, a blue or black hoodie and Ugg boots.

Police were interviewing witnesses and staff after the robbery, and a dog unit was in the area.

Police asked anyone who had seen something or had any information to contact Dunedin Police on (03) 471 4800 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
