A man suffered spinal injuries and a cut head after a light truck rolled down a 4m bank in Waikato today.

The Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter was dispatched Pukeatua, east of Te Awamutu, after the truck left the road.

It came to rest on its side after rolling 4m down the embankment.

A 38-year-old passenger, one of two occupants, suffered suspected spinal injuries and cuts to the back of his head.

He was airlifted to Waikato Hospital.

The helicopter was dispatched due to the remote location of the crash and the rapidly deteriorating weather.
