The victim today is in a "comfortable" condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.

The three dogs involved in the attack have been seized by the Christchurch City Council.

They will be held by the council's dog control unit until a decision on prosecution is made.

A council spokeswoman said the three dogs are a Shar Pei/Collie cross.

The dogs were registered, the council says.
