Police have released the name of a man, working for a waste collection company, who was crushed to death at an Auckland rubbish tip.
Michael Kelly, 51, of Glenfield died at the EnviroWaste refuse transfer station off Constellation Dr in Mairangi Bay on Friday afternoon.
Police are investigating the circumstances of Mr Kelly's death on behalf of the coroner.
A WorkSafe NZ investigation is also under way.
The man died when he was moving a waste bin at a bin storage yard adjacent to the transfer station.
