New Zealand troops are taking part in the biggest ever military exercise, in one the most tense parts of the world this weekend.

A small Defence Force contingent has been involved in an amphibious landing in South Korea.

They're joining South Korean and US forces in simulating an assault on North Korea's beach defences.

A small detachment of Australian forces are also joining the simulated assault.
