A driver fleeing the police crashed into a moving vehicle and then a parked car in South Auckland this evening.
Officers had spotted the car being driven at high speed on Burundi Ave in Clendon Park about 6.30pm and pursued it, said police spokesman Inspector Jason Greenhalgh.
It failed to stop, and police chased it for another three minutes before abandoning the pursuit because of the motorist's speed and dangerous driving.
After another three minutes, the car crashed into a vehicle being driven by a member of the public, who suffered minor injuries.
The fleeing car then smashed into the parked vehicle.
