An Upper Hutt man who was missing has been found alive, but critically ill.
Graham Carr, 66, was found by a police dog team in the Te Marua Water Treatmant plant area before noon today.
Police said when he was found he was severely hypothermic.
Constable Hamish Kinght said information from the public helped police to narrow the search area.
"We're very relieved that Graham has been found as it was unlikely that he could have lasted much longer given the very cold conditions in the area," Mr Knight said.
