A south Auckland man has been taken to Middlemore Hospital with possible spinal injuries after becoming trapped under a compacting roller.
The man was injured this morning while loading the heavy roller onto a truck, which rolled off and trapped him in the truck's cab, emergency services said.
Fire Rescue staff and St John paramedics freed him from the cab and the Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to the address.
The incident happened in a rural area near Pukekawa, south east of Pukekohe at approximately 10am.
The 46-year-old man was treated for a suspected spinal injury before being flown to Middlemore Hospital for further treatment.
