A teenager was stabbed in the chest with a glass bottle in Christchurch late last night.
Police said the 19-year-old man was assaulted after he left a friend's house and started walking home along Bencard Place in Hoon Hay shortly before midnight.
Two people got out of a four-door sedan car and one allegedly assaulted the teen with what appeared to be a glass bottle neck.
"The two people are reported to have left the scene in the car when the victim's friends came out of their house after hearing him shouting for help," police said.
The teen was taken to Christchurch Hospital and treated for what police described as "a single non-penetrating stab wound to the chest".
