Miley Cyrus has arrived in Auckland for her first New Zealand concert. And she wasn't stopping for anyone. Pop music's enfant terrible, who will play Vector Arena tonight as part of her worldwide Bangerz tour, dodged the media pack by slipping out of Auckland Airport unnoticed.
Act MP David Seymour got a surprise while out door-knocking today to catch up with the locals in Mt Eden - stumbling upon a wild party of girls getting ready for tonight's sold-out Miley Cyrus show.
The 31-year-old Act MP, who has signed a confidence and supply agreement with theNational-led government in its third consecutive term, tweeted a photo of himself with some Cyrus fans.
"You can see the grin there [in the photo] - it was definitely the funnest door knocking I did all day and they were clearly amped up.
"How cool is it that it that international stars come to Auckland - I think it's wonderful and I hope everyone has a safe and fun night - and not too many twerks."
Mr Seymour admitted his twerking skills were not up to scratch.
"I'm just really not that flexible."
Cyrus flew into Auckland this morning for her first New Zealand concert. She is due to play Vector Arena tonight as part of her worldwide Bangerz tour.
Such is the excitement over tonight's concerts that some on social media thought they spotted the star in Auckland - even before her plane touched down.
Fans of the 21-year-old will be hoping for a typically irreverent display of twerking, tonguing and typically raunchy ensembles on stage.
The Wrecking Ball singer has local paparazzi on high alert. They're eager to get pics of her falling out of a nightclub or lunching in the sun on Auckland's waterfront.
Insiders say her stay will be fleeting - she'll be jetting to Melbourne for her next gig on Friday.
