A 53-year-old man suffered a serious hand injury in a log splitting accident yesterday.
The man was among four people rescued by the Christchurch Westpac Rescue Helicopter yesterday.
The accident happening in Leithfield, North Canterbury, a spokesman for the helicopter crew said.
No further details were immediately available.
Earlier in the day, the crew were called to Bowenvale Track near Christchurch, where a 38-year-old mountain bike rider suffered a serious head injury after falling off his bike at high speed onto rocks.
