An accused man made a break for freedom from the Gore District Court yesterday and is still on the run.

Rory Damien Partridge dodged security at the backdoor of the courthouse around 4pm yesterday.

The 23-year-old was appearing in court on charges related to burglary and driving while disqualified.

Police said they have searched Gore for him and police in Invercargill had joined the search.

Police describe Partridge as Maori, 1.9 m tall of thin build with a tattoo on his left hand.

Police said Partridge should not be approached but sightings of him should be reported to police.
