The man accused of assaulting cricketer Jesse Ryder is expected to appear in court this afternoon.
The 38-year-old builder is charged with injuring Ryder with reckless disregard for his safety outside a Christchurch bar last year.
He's pleaded not guilty and is due to appear at 2.15pm.
The man was expected to appear in court at the end of March, but his name was taken off the court list for unspecified reasons.
His lawyer Jonathan Eaton had applied for a stay application to have the case thrown out on the grounds that adverse publicity could affect the trial.
