Another cyclist has died on New Zealand roads following a crash in the Bay of Islands this morning.
Police said they were called to the crash between a male cyclist and car on Kapiro Rd in Kerikeri just after 8am.
The cyclist, identified as local man William Bayliss, 54, was initially assessed to have serious injuries, however his condition deteriorated over the morning.
Police northern communications shift inspector Tony Edwards confirmed this afternoon Mr Bayliss had passed away.
The serious crash unit were investigating the incident.
Road closures were in place from the corner of Kapiro Road and Redcliffs Rd, and the intersection of Kapiro and State Highway 10.
They were expected to remain in place until mid-afternoon.
Mr Edwards said one person was being spoken to in relation to crash.
Today's cycling death follows a raft of other cycling accidents over the summer - including the death of Auckland cyclist John Tangiia, 37, earlier this month.
