Kim Dotcom's mother was raided at her home the same day authorities swooped on the controversial internet mogul's sprawling Coatesville mansion, according to new claims.

In reports published today, Vice magazine said Dotcom's mother "was also swarmed by assault rifle-toting authorities who came to seize a car that Kim bought for her".

Dotcom's mother is Anneli Miettinen, who is Finnish but lives in Germany, where Dotcom grew up.

Vice said Dotcom called the raids on Coatesville and his mother's house "a co-ordinated global strike".

Dotcom reiterated the claims on his Twitter page again this afternoon.

The activist and hacker network Anonymous said German police raided Miettinen's house "armed with MP5s, and seized her Mercedes Benz".
