Counterfeiters are using fake $20 notes to buy goods at busy Christchurch shops, police say.
Fraud cops have received four complaints this week of counterfeit notes being circulated at retail outlets.
Police are not disclosing details of the counterfeiting, but say that among the features detected are duplicated serial numbers.
