The final group of soldiers who've served with the Provincial Reconstruction Team in Bamyan return from Afghanistan today.

It marks the end of New Zealands decade-long commitment in the province.

Over 60 Defence Force staff will arrive at Christchurch International Airport just before 5pm.

They'll be met by family and friends, along with Minister of Defence Jonathan Coleman and the Commander of the Joint Forces Air Vice-Marshal, Kevin Short.
